Magneto-electro-quasi-static (M/EQS) Field
M/EQS
Basic Concept
- 3-axis emitter and 3-axis sensor – sensor detects fields and solves for positions & orientation Sensors are simple and small (palm sized and lightweight)
- No requirement for triangulation to determine position
- Operational ranges approximately measured up to 200m with a single transmitter node and may be extendable to kilometers with an array network
M/EQS fields
- Not significantly perturbed when line-of-sight is blocked or near lossy objects
- Require coils to emit and detect fields - Sensed magnetic fields are immune to multi-path
- M/EQS algorithms can correct the errors due to challenging ferromagnetic environments Demonstrated within centimeter level (~10cm) resolution for PNT (optimized system)
